In my last posting (Hide and seek?) I included a couple of quotes from someone I admire a great deal, Gary Vaynerchuk. If you're not familiar with him I highly recommend you take a few moments to visit https://www.garyvaynerchuk.com
In the posting I quoted him writing about "...allowing the personality, heart and soul of the people who run all levels of the business to show."
This got me to thinking more about how successful corporations and individuals seek alignment in their personality continuum and how achieving such alignment can be immensely powerful.
My conversation with a couple of colleagues led me to consider the common qualities of effective leadership, effective branding and effective communication. If you look into the literature surrounding this topic you'll find a vast array of prescriptions and components but since I'm a pretty simple guy these are the ones I think most relevant.
Four general competencies of effective leaders
Four general characteristics of effective branding
Four general characteristics of effective communication
And, if you dig a little deeper into the effective communication arena you'll come to see even more alignment. Consider the following:
Four general characteristics of effective graphic design
Four general characteristics of effective brand/logo design
There is a great deal of common ground between these and good reason that is so. More to come on that in the next posting.
In the meantime, if you want to learn more about how to make this alignment continuum work in your organization just let me know. Love to talk about how I and my colleagues can help.
